This Privacy Policy explains how Yama Maps collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile applications.

  1. Information we collect

    1. Account information

      • Email address you provide when you create an account.

    2. User data

      • User data such as Plans and recorded Activities may optionally be synced to our servers.
      • User data is by default private and not visible to any other users of the App unless the user chooses to publish a Plan to make it public to other users.

  2. Information we do not collect

    1. Location data
      Location data is used only on your device to provide location-based features, such as showing your position on the map and recording GPS tracks.

      • If you grant location permission, the App may access your precise device location to show your position on the map, record Activities, and generate GPS tracks.
      • Location data is processed locally on your device.
      • We do not send your location to our servers.
      • If you export or share a file from the App, that action is controlled by you and may disclose location data to the destination you choose.

    2. Other
      We do not collect government ID numbers, payment card numbers, or health data.

  3. How we use the information collected

    We use account information to:

    • Create and maintain your account.
    • Allow future login.
    • Respond to account support or deletion requests. We keep account information for as long as your account remains active until you delete your account, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.

    We use User data to:

    • Store your Activities and Plans so you may sync them across your devices or restore them when re-installing the App.
    • Allow users to publish Plans to make them publicly visible to other users.

  4. Sharing and Disclosure

    • We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
    • We do not sell or share your location data, Plans, or Activities.
    • When the App loads third party map tiles such as satellite imagery, the map provider may receive network requests for the map areas being viewed. These requests do not include your precise GPS location from us, but they may reveal approximate map areas requested by your device.
    • We may use service providers for authentication, email delivery, hosting, security, and support. These providers may process account information only as needed to provide their services to us.

  5. Your Choices and Controls

    1. Access / correction / deletion
      • You may request account deletion and associated data deletion by contacting us at support@yamamaps.com. see our data deletion page for more.
      • All User data is opt-in and private by default and you may remove any synced data at any time from within the App.
      • Published Plans (Publicly visible to other users) may be unpublished at any time from within the App.
    2. Location permissions
      • You can choose whether to grant location access.
      • You can revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings.
      • You can stop activity recording at any time in the App.

  6. Security We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect your information during transmission and while stored.

  7. International Transfers Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your home country. Those locations may have different data protection rules than where you live.

  8. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features, regulations, or how we handle data. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may notify you in-app or by email.
